What You're Consenting To
By using Hello Heart's AI services, you consent to our use of Hello Heart’s rules-based AI system that analyzes the information in your Hello Heart app to provide you with relevant information to better educate you and which may be used to assist a pharmacist or other healthcare professional in making recommendations regarding your heart health. The AI services are not intended for use in the diagnosis or the cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease, or to affect the structure or any function of the body. Instead, they are intended to increase your awareness, education, and empowerment, and ultimately support your patient-centered health care delivered by your licensed healthcare provider.
How Our AI System Works
Hello Heart uses a rules-based logic system to:
- Analyze health data obtained from the Hello Heart blood pressure monitor and that you provide (such as medication information, cholesterol readings, weight, and other heart health metrics)
- Identify patterns or values that suggest you might benefit from a referral to our affiliated pharmacists, your primary care provider, or specialist
- Alert our affiliated pharmacists when such opportunities are identified
- Support us in providing you with timely, personalized heart health information.
Human Oversight
Our AI system does not make independent healthcare decisions. Instead, the AI system - without human involvement - will identify patterns that suggest when it might be a good idea to seek the advice of a licensed healthcare provider. These suggestions may be shared directly with you or may be shared with a Hello Heart-affiliated pharmacist or other qualified healthcare professional. If shared directly with you, you may decide to seek the advice of your healthcare provider. If shared with a Hello Heart-affiliated pharmacist or other healthcare professional, they may decide to reach out to you directly.
Benefits of AI-Assisted Care
This approach helps:
- Identify opportunities to improve your heart health that might otherwise be missed
- Provide insight into whether to make a recommendation to see your primary care provider or specialist
- Deliver personalized recommendations based on your specific health data
Limitations and Risks
While our AI system is designed to better inform you, you should be aware that:
- No AI system is perfect and it should not replace a licensed or credentialed health care provider’s independent medical judgment
- The system in part relies on the data you provide—incomplete or inaccurate data may affect recommendations
- The system may not identify all possible health concerns
- Technical issues could occasionally delay or prevent alerts to our team
- The system is designed to supplement, and not replace, regular medical care from your primary care provider or specialist
Your Data Privacy
Your health data is protected according to our Privacy Policy and in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Specifically:
- Your data is encrypted and stored securely
- Access is limited to authorized personnel who will only use the minimum amount necessary to perform their particular authorized tasks
- We maintain audit trails of all data access
- We do not sell your personal health information
- We use your data only for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Ask questions about how AI is used in your care
- Request information about what data is being analyzed
- Opt out of AI-assisted recommendations while continuing to use other Hello Heart services
- Receive Hello Heart’s service that meet our standards regardless of your decision about AI-assisted services
Changes to Our AI System
Hello Heart continuously improves our technology. We will notify you of significant changes to how our AI system works or how it uses your data.

- You understand that this system is designed to support, not replace, your relationship with your primary healthcare providers
